The East End United Community Center is a place for individuals and families to come together and prosper. The East End United Community Center has a breadth of services that support the entire family, the majority of which emphasize social and emotional learning, the process through which children and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make reasonable decisions.
In it's early years, East End United Community Center operated an after school program and employment/ training programs in the East School building, a decommissioned elementary school donated by the Uniontown Area School Dirstrict. The Center inspired a variety of afterschool programs that later came into Fayette County. Upon it's foundation, the Center's founding members felt strongly that the word "united" be prominent in the name of the organization as it represented cooperation among all members of the community; various racial, ethnic, economic, and religious groups.
"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character — that is the goal of true education." Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Our mission at the East End United Community Center is to advance growth and well-being by providing educational, social, economic and cultural opportunities to our community.
Our Vision is a thriving community where everyone is valued.
