CACFP

Here at the East End United Community Center, we're grateful to be a part of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), a wonderful federal assistance program supported by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). CACFP, on a national scale, is like a warm embrace, providing daily, subsidized food service for an estimated 3.3 million children and 120,000 elderly or mentally or physically impaired adults in non-residential, daycare settings.

Here at the community center, we are passionate about ensuring the well-being of our community's youth! We understand that when the final school bell rings and parents are still hard at work, children yearn for a safe haven, a place where they can be with their friends, engage in structured activities, and receive the care they deserve, all while enjoying a nutritious dinner and evening snack.

 

We wholeheartedly believe that children are our future, and their well-being is our top priority. We know that nourishing not only their bodies but also their minds is the key to helping them grow into healthy, happy, and successful individuals. Our afterschool program is the bridge that connects this vision to reality.

 

With the support of the CACFP program, we are able to provide our young participants with more than just a meal; we provide them with an experience. An experience that is safe, engaging, and filled with opportunities for learning. As our children and teenagers gather after school, they find themselves in a place where their laughter fills the air, where friendships blossom, and where they are guided by caring adults who are dedicated to their growth.

 

But it's not just about fun and games; we understand the importance of nourishment in their development. Our warm dinners and evening snacks are carefully crafted to provide the nutrition that growing bodies and curious minds require. These delicious and wholesome meals not only satisfy their hunger but also fuel their journey towards success. Every plate we serve is a building block for their future, every activity is a stepping stone towards personal growth, and every interaction is a chance to foster self-confidence and a sense of belonging.
